Environmental Report Card Research: Perception on environmental performance and problems in Myanmar

The Environmental Report Card (ERC) is an instrument to outlook the state of the country’s natural resources and the environment in a participatory way based on people’s perception, and also to evaluate the performance of local authorities and government departments on how seriously they are undertaking to improve the State of Environment(SOE) in given jurisdictional areas. Since 2012, ALARM in collaboration with the partners organizations has been conducting the research to help defense the existing natural resources of the country through assessing the drivers and pressures that can cause the deterioration of those resources and consequently bring detrimental impacts on human beings. In 2013, ALARM undertook the environmental assessment in 459 villages in 50 townships of five States and four Regions, 59 townships of 4 states and 3 regions in 2015 ,130 townships of seven states and five regions in 2017 respectively.
